TeamKID Outreach
Dear Parents,
As your children are attending the TeamKID program we want to encourage them to reach out to others. We have 2 projects right now that we are promoting, 1 is to send gently used or new books to an elementary school in Alabama that was damaged by tornadoes earlier this year and their library was wiped out. They do not have the resources to refurnish their library with books at this time. The 2nd project is that the children will be writing letters to SSGT Jermaine L. Wright and we want to send him a Soldier’s Care package along with the letters. SSGT Wright’s family are members of our church and we are thankful to have them as part of our family here at DLBC.
For the care package the following are suggested:
Any and all hygiene items: deodorant, body wash, Noxema, face wash, foot powder, Mach 3 blades, fusion razors, etc.
Drink Mixes: hot chocolate, coffee, protein mixes
DVD’S, CD’S, games, paperback books, hometown newspapers, magazines, envelopes and paper
Snacks of any kind: gold fish crackers, jerky, Pringles, pudding snacks(with spoons) single serve fruit containers, etc.
Canned tuna or canned chicken
Cereals, oatmeal, breakfast bars, protein bars
Candy: hard candies, twizzlers, skittles, chocolate only in the winter

TeamKID
The DLBC Children's Ministry is beginning a new program on Sunday September 4, 2011 called "TeamKID". KID stands for "Kids In Discipleship". We will start the program during 1st Service Children's Church, continue with the program through the Sunday School teaching, and then repeat the main lesson in 2nd Service Children's Church. Parents must register their children to participate in TeamKID. We will also continue the program on Wednesday eveinings and we are changing the time to be from 6pm - 7:30pm . TeamKID is also only for children 5 years of age up through 5th grade. Four year olds will be able to attend Children's Church and then they will go to the Nursery/Pre-school building for their Sunday School time and on Wednesday Nights.
For the first year your children will be learning about different Bible characters that represent Godly characters such as Righteousness, Honesty, Responsibility, Kindness, and much more.
We are very excited about this new program and we pray that you will be too.
Registration begins this Sunday August 28, 2011 in the lobby after the first service, and before the 2nd Service.

Other Annual Children's Ministry Activities
Vacation Bible School - For one week in the summer the DLBC Children's Ministry organizes Vacation Bible School. This program is designed for 4yr olds up through the completion of 5th grade. Kids learn about God's truths through music, crafts, Bible stories, games, and much more.
Trunk or Treat - DLBC members come together for a fun Halloween alternative where we set up out of the trunks of our cars and invite children from our community to come and receive treats, hear Bible Stories, play games, etc on October 31.
Operation Christmas Child - Each year our Children's Ministry host the annual Operation Christmas Child shoebox mission giving. We help send shoe boxes to Children all over the world containing items of clothing, shoes, toys, soaps, toothpaste and toothbrushes, books, drawing and coloring items, etc. This ministry was started by Franklin Graham and DLBC has participated every year. Our children and members experience the joy of sharing in Jesus birthday with children around the world.
